What every teacher should teach.

Thank you Seth Godin for sharing your ideas. I am a big fan of Seth Godin and read his books and blogs every day. I just have to share this blog which resonated with me as I am a trainer/teacher/coach who has the privilege of helping people change. I have re-invented this blog into the 10 commandments for all students.

  • I will focus intently on a problem until it's solved.
  • I will postpone short-term satisfaction in exchange for long-term success.
  • I will know how to read critically.
  • I will be being able to lead groups of peers without receiving clear delegated authority.
  • I will have an understanding of the extraordinary power of the scientific method, in just about any situation or endeavor.
  • I will be able to persuasively present ideas in multiple forms, especially in writing and before a group.
  • I will learn how to excel in project management. Self-management and the management of ideas, projects and people.
  • I will have control over my personal finance. Understanding the truth about money and debt and leverage.
  • I will have an insatiable desire (and the ability) to learn more. Forever.
  • Most of all, I will develop the self-reliance that comes from understanding that relentless hard work can be applied to solve problems worth solving.
  • Ok this is eleven if you are counting! Follow Seth Godin and do as he suggests!

These commandments are not only relevant for the next generation but relevant to every individual in every company that seeks “success”. How many do you practice?
